Great DOF and color composition.

I like better focus. Like the green background. Bug looks dead not scared.

not bad

the fly could use some lighting

Very nice subject choice and a good use of pull focus. The insect's head could stand to be a little more in focus, but I really like the picture.

Soon to be food

Good photo, I'm sure some people will miss that it is the bee feeling fear. Nicely done.

If I were him, I'd be pretty scared, nice macro! I like the light reflections here.

Nice Shot, caught something that most people walk past everyday.

Very nice macro. I like the thaw drops in the spider net.
I think the photo would look better when the bee (flea?) and the whole spidernet would be in focus. A smaller aperture could have helped to get more DOF. The white spot on the right side distracts from the main object.

It is just too bad the rascal couldn't have been flapping those wings about a houndred miles an hour. Then you would have had real fear. Macros sure are hard to get in total focus on a three dimensional subject, aren't they. That would have helped considerably. The bright spot on the right is quite distracting and may have caused some of your difficulty. A 6 by Autool

I think that's a horse fly, couldn't have happened to a better fly. Very good shot of the lower half of the fly, but the upper half (head, etc) isn't focused. Broaden your depth of field and get the whole guy. 8 Swash

Good Picture. Did you rescue it after you took a picture of it?

I like the out of focus background, but I think maybe your whole fly isn't quite in focus. Some may complain about that bright spot to the right, but I sort of like it for balance. Nice composition.

Great color and detail. I also love the composition of this!

Excellent. You received the only top mark I gave out. In my opinion, many photos did not embody the premise of FEAR. Your idea was brilliant!
07/09/2002 01:59:00 PM
Horrible and very effective.

Good photo... but more of despair rather than fear
07/08/2002 10:50:00 PM
This is a GREAT photo ! It's really got nice DOF and color ect. The FEAR just isn't there for me.
