This was a well thought out idea but it appears to have been rushed when you took the photo. The melon is not in real good focus it tends to be softer to the right side as does the right hand as well.
Your composition isn't bad, if you didn't use an unsharpening mask in the future try it and see if that helps/ |

I this would have been better if it wasn't cropped so tight and showed more clearly that the watermelon was still on the vine and "growing in the garden". The tight cropping on the hands loses a lot of the "garden" character. Otherwise, nice shot. |

i'm normally a fan of desaturation, but i think the green should have been more saturated to create more contrast. |
