Nice idea, good composition, effective lighting angle, great eye contact, powerful, emotive, my favorite for this competition.

I like this picture, especially the look of panic in the eyes (like is perhaps the wrong word tho). Its let down by the blurring though.

Now that's got some "wow" factor. Great job. Excellent lighting, focus and DOF.

Very interesting gaze... I am wishing for a sharp area somewhere in the photograph.

Looks a little soft, but I love the expression in his eyes.

Just saw Taro Yamasaki a couple of weeks ago. He showed me his pictures of wild gorillas that he photographed in a jungle in South Africa. All apes look confident, imposing, even grand. and this one is absolutely devastated. we are cruel...

This is almost excellent. Somehow, you needed to bring the entire image of the ape into sharp clarity, and then it would have been an easy winner in the challenge. I still rated it very high.

OK, I saw this in the thumbnails and was looking forward to rating it.. HOWEVER.. This really is a missed opportunity. The slight blurriness (low shutter speed due to low light?) really detracts from the overall `feel` of the photo. I am so gutted for you in that respect otherwise this, in my opinion, would of been in the top 3, you may be lucky and others like me will see how good this photo `could` of been. I still think its great, I love the crop, the subject matter and the lighting and hence will give you an 8...
Looking at this again I think most people will rate this as a 10, then detract a couple of points.. this could be a winner. I wouldnt be surprised if I saw this in the top 3 come next wednesday.
