I ran around southern Virginia on Saturday, looking for shots for 2 sec. challenge. Ended up at Appomattox Courthouse at closing time. Got some good images, but all of them had too much light for this challenge. As it was being locked up, I slipped into the General Store and snapped this. It was a throwaway; I just wanted to remember what it looked like in case I went back. When I got home to edit, the potential of this image really spoke to me. I would have liked advanced editing but, for the challenge, this will have to do.
In RAW, reduced exposure, lowered brightness, increased shadow.
In PSCS2, crop, curves, sharpen, resize.
Hope you enjoy... Oh, its a still life display behind glass. The glass is reflecting the light and life from outside. |

| the line of the door matching up with the line on the center of the pot is oddly distracting to me other than that I love it |

| Great composition. Lack of shadow detail in darkest areas actually help focus attention on other areas. |

| The reflection is not placed very well. It cuts the picture right down the middle and is confusing. |

| What is that line that goes down the middle of the image? It almost looks like the crease in a magazine. Odd. But ayway, on to the photo....I like it a lot. Beautiful colors and acertainly low key. The sky and the tree silhouette are somewhat distracting to me. Perhaps cropping to just above the barrel (?) (to a landscape orientation)? |
