Tried to follow graphicfunk's steps to the letter.

Shot my head, printed, spray mount on foam core, cut out.
Cover my head with a black shirt against black background.
Press the shutter release Pose and wait for the flash.

Post: Clone around neck and smooth out the head area.
Dodge & Burn, levels, curves, brightness & contrast, USM
Crop and save for the web.

This was super hard! But Super Fun!

Thank you very much graphicfunk I hope I did it justice.

Wow, what a surprise, I thought this would come in at least top 20! Really great job! Comparing the two I'd say your's is a little dark, a touch flat, and not quite as crisp. Otherwise great effort to emulate the master!

I waited to vote until this was validated....I guess you took a picture of your head and that is what you are holding. Creative way to get around the editing rules! Well done.

First of all I am very flattered. You did all the complicated steps to a tee. The only fault is that the focus should have started right at the end of the red rc plug with whatever aperture required to get the hands in focus. This insures that the printed head would also be on the money. Outside of that the image is exceptional.
