This is a combination of a number of ideas from a number of ribbon winners. I printed out the H2O pattern from the kiwiness's photo (1st place Science) and traced the droplets onto a piece of glass with a syringe. I printed out the Jacko's photo (2nd place Liquid) and put it under the glass (which was supported by four wine bottles). The idea for the water droplets came from jmsetzler's photo (1st place Transparency, and later 1st place photo by Spurs in 1970s). In PS- converved to JPEG from RAW, cropped, increased exposure, dodged and burned background, sharpened water droplets, USM, save for web.

It didn't turn out quite how I wanted ( I thought the challenge closed on Friday so was a bit pressed for time), but it was a blast to do!

Nice twist on the originals.

Certainly the most creative tribute I've seen. Great idea and implementation. Don't know if you did this, but for future reference I recommend applying Rain-X to the glass to get those perfect standup waters droplets.

Great work on recreating two DPC classics. I love the focus and the water drops.

the angle of the glass compared to the paper is really good but using water and honey in the same time is a little chaotic. The thing is that we can't even read the word "honey" in the water drops and isn't that the point of the shallow depth of field on a piece of glass? Also, the loose water drops trailing behind the "2" are a bit of a bummer. Nice caligraphy though. 7
