Entering against my better judgement.
I quite like this shot, it's simple and quite effective I think. I like the flow from top right to bottom left and I think that the eye is drwn to the centre of the pic by the yellow nutty thing....
Ususally when I like 'em the masses don't... so I don't expect it to be a winner.... but I am happy with it.
Cropped it a little on the left and right to make it a little tighter. Lifted the contrast and dropped the brightness, that's about it.
Oh and sharpened of course.

This is beautiful. The brightness of the acorn against the dark background really brings out the color. One of my favorites!

Great DoF and really vivid rich colour. Lush, I think. 7.

Lovely rich colours. I would prefer it if the cone weren't so centred though.

You have turned an ordinary pine cone into a photographic superstar.

It takes a great sense for beauty and a keen photographic eye to do that.

The subtle greens and blue in this image are eye pleasing but the bright yellow/green pine cone is absolutely spectacular.

Kudos to you.

One of my favorites this challenge.

Good use of DOF, composition is maybe a little too centred according to the 'rule' of 3rds, but I think it works well in this photo.

Wow, that is great. I love the contrast between the needles and the dark green background. I'll like to see how this one does. The only destracting part is the light green in the lower left. Nothing you could do however. 8.

The picture is beautiful. The main subject is too centered though. If the pine cone was in the left or right third of the photo it would be more effective.

Beautiful lighting, DOF, and exposure. Maybe just a little sharper but I really like the way you composed this. 8

Beautiful color saturation and sharp focus. Composition works well also.

This, to me, is an excellent example of what can be done with a (relatively) plain and familiar subject. The effects, although marked, are kept subordinated to the aesthetic demands of the capture.

What's most striking, to me, are the luminously rich tones against and the critically perfect sharpness apparently achieved by impeccable post-processing. Yet, even the composition would not endure a less sensitized eye. > 8
