Wow, never had such varying comments :-) I knew it was too dark outside when I shot this photo. Aperture already was as wide as possible. Also couldn't increase shutter speed without making it even darker. I wanted to reshoot this one another day but hadn't the time for it (neither my "subject"). I still thought it was better than my spider shot ;-) In post editing I could have made it lighter but it looked ok on my monitor (night, dimly lit room). When I got to work next day, I was shocked to see how dark it was. Well... learnt another thing this week ;-) We tried a lot and I experienced it being extremly difficult to shoot at the right moment and move the camera with the right speed to have the subject in focus. Anyway, thanks to everybody who broaded their mind and didn't rate it low just because "No Fear" is not "Fear". Why do you know that this kid really has no fear? Just because of the title? It's just my interpretation. Also thanks to everybody who despite of the technical flaws recognized the idea. |

background in focus - panning the subject might have been more effective. "fear" interpretation lost - kids don't fear jumping in the air - |

A bit on the dark side. I like the blurred effect but the black line takes absorbs the skaters head. |

no fear was not the challenge topic! as for the photo, motion blur is great, and would work well, but then the subject should be in focus and the background blurred or vice versa. not both. photo's also too dark. -- gr8photos (2) |

Challenge was meet (at least for me) but the black streak kind of hides the skater's head. I don't know if you had control over your subject (although he/she appears to be a teen so I doubt it) but if you could have gotten them into better light without whatever caused that black streak, I think you would have had a 'hang on the wall' shot. |

I like this. It's a little dark, could be this monitor, but I really like the twilight-y blue tones and the bands of color across it. |

This is a neat image but I think it needs some more light to work well = 6 - jmsetzler |

I am not quite sure what this is a shot of - a person on a trampoline? meeting challenge = 3, photo quality = 3 a bit too much movement. I can't tell what is going on. total = 6 |

I wasn't really sure what was happening in this picture at first. I don't mind the blur of movement but I would like to see the subject a little better. There is also no "fear" factor that I can ascertain... |

This could have been really cool, but it's too dark to view. Needs alot more light, and a faster shutter speed. IMO either blur the background or the subject, not both. 5 Swash |
