Well, I can't really say I expect this entry to do all that great...but what they hey. (And if this frickin' ribbons I'll be pissed as all hell.)

Well, here's the situation. My 20D is at the factory getting fixed again. So my only digital camera was my camera phone. I didn't think I'd be able to use it for lack of EXIF but it turns out that it does record the date/time of shoot. (But not Aperture/ISO/Shutter). Oh well, it still should be 'nuff to validate the photo.

So why the hell not enter. So I set my phone to macro mode, created a web page with 4 lines. Took several shots at varying angles so as to capture the texture and some of the moire. Had mixed results on the moire. And decided to go with one that had less but I liked the composition better as I felt the arrangement of lines drew the eyes better in this shot. I also captured a nice tonal shift. A little processing with basic curves to emphasize the tonal shift and a slight hue shift toward a deeper blue.

Well, I'll be lucky if this comes in second to last place. But, I think considering the low-level tool I had available that it's a pretty decent entry considering.

I'm not sure this quite fits for textures - it's difficult to discern a 3-dimensional object here (it looks like it may be a screenshot). In any case, the 'feeling' (texture) of the image is lost on me.
