POST VOTING: I entered this in the Textures Challenge because of the almost braille-like quality of the engraving and the smoothness of the marble. I think the reflection (while certainly one of the main elements) may have taken away too much from that aspect for this particular challenge when it came to voting. Not sure... In any case, I'm really pleased with how the shot turned out. :-)

Way underrated. I thought it was a lovely homage to the wall and the reflection was stunning. Keep on pluggin' dude. We'll figure out what they want some day. ;~D

Amazingly well composed reflection on the monument. The blue from the sky really comes through well too. Cool photo!

Interesting but it seems to be more of a study of reflections than texture. Although, on second thought, the reflections are there because of the texture so I guess this works. Still, for a challenge which, in my view, is essentially a technical one, I think the textural quality should be more apparent. I'm not crazy about this type of subject matter but the reflections of the clouds, trees, and monument add interest and mood. The reflections of the vistors at the bottom, however are merely distracting and should have been cropped out, IMO.

This is just lovely. Not only the sentiment, but the image. The reflection is beautiful with the rich cyan of the sky. I really love this on many levels.

Oh! I was trying to get a reflection of the flag that flies nearby when I was there recently.. didn't even think to go for the monument. Well done, very nice!
