 I was really happy with the result of this shot 18 out of 403 and 96%...wow! Thanks to everyone that voted.

I wasn't going to enter this challenge, but when I saw this flax type plant in my next door neighbour's garden, I thought it would be different from the usual daffodils and lillies. Apparently it's a rare plant that grows it's floral stem in a couple of days. The stem with the flowers is over a metre tall! It has hundreds of these little delicate flowers.

I shot this with a Sigma 105mm Macro on a tripod and used fill in flash from a Nikon SB600 with a diffuser. That made the bacground trees almost black with the great depth of field and the dark overcast conditions.

On the computer I tweaked USM, Saturation and dodged a few unwanted background features that were in the background. A little NI, frame and save for web.

I can't believe I didn't comment on this during the challenge. It's very striking and the title makes me think of the Coldplay song.

Really lovely with the diagonal lines of the fronds of blossoms. Quite eye catching and very appealing. Congrats on the nice finish too.

I like this one, exspecially the name, "and it was all yellow", from the song Yellow with Coldplay, it's one of my favourite songs and this pic is good for the title

Lovely composition that capture the soft pastel beauty of the yellow hues of this delicate flower. Love the water drops that caress the petals. The black background really makes the main subject pop off the page. Light illuminates the lovliness of the flowers perfectly. Lovely job.
