"Chugga Chugga Choo Choo" is a wonderful entry into the Children's Toy challenge. In todays society anyone with a little boy knows who Thomas is and how magical he is. Great choice of subject!
The image its self grabs your attention. The lighting is the first thing I notice because it is enhancing the subject and the smoke. I bet you had a hard time deciding on the background for this shot. To me the background seem a little off but I think it would have affected the shot way to much if you decided to go with a solid background. The only thing I might try is to add some light from the front side, so we have a little light on the face. It was a great idea and congrats on the top 20%. I look forward to your future submissions. |

Thomas needs to cut out the smokes. Other than the smoke the image is under exposed or I would have rated this higher. |

Nice idea, good smoke, background, composition. Just wish for more illumination on face of train, but I love the shot. |

Good idea for the execution. although I feel the background doesn;t suit the light from the side at all. If the background picture was lit a little bit more, the light from the side wouldn't have distracted from the main picture so much. Also, the smoke is very well done, seriously, but the fact that the wheels are so stationary is also not helping. I wouldve maybe looked at putting grass and twigs in the foreground to hide the wheels a little and make it seems as if it's pastures he is moving through. Besides that, good shot and good luck for the next challenge! :) |
