I completely love this image. All right, so you have to work a little bit to see the interest of the subject itself. But the textures, tones, and colors you have captured are utterly astounding.

It's beautiful. Elegant and thoughtful. Understated and confident.
But maybe the best thing about it is that it does not have a "kick" to it.
So good to see a photograph that's all about the subject and not about the photographer. |

| I love how these two very different substances are merged because of a similarity of color and how light plays on them. Beautiful shot. |

| The toning here is very effective, I like these color tones a lot. Lighting is also done well. Somehow this image doesn't really have the kick to it that it should though. The main subject is great, the background is okay, it fits. But I would probably have gone in for something with more impact to it, maybe a different angle or composition I don't know exactly.
