Great expression on your little models face. Shadow from the hat is distracting and i wonder if a fill card located underneath her would have removed or softend the shadow. Lovely face.

Realized the light was off camera to the left. so, a little fill under AND on the frames RH side would have helped. Just my two cents and im certainly not an expert :)

The shadows look a little harsh for my taste, especially that of her hand across her lower face. The effect seems somewhat less apparent to me if the photo is cropped in even tighter from the sides to a square, eliminating almost all of the background.

I'd have taken out one of the catchlights in her left eye, so they match. Nice job keeping some texture/detail in the skin and fabric. You are lucky to have such an excellent model available : )

This is too cute. I like the eyes and the pose, but the shadow from the hand across the bottom half of her face detracts a little bit. Still I gave you a 10.

a little darling, isn't she? :)
not sure if I really liked the way the light coming from below, but I guess in this case, it works to light up her otherwise darkened face due to the hat.

it's creepy having that much makeup on a child.

I like the shadow cast by the hat, however, I hate the shadow cast by her hand.

interesting composition.
I wish she wasn't leaning on the wall though.

This has a lot of potential, but didn't quite make it. Sweet child with great expression, cute hat - but the lighting is too direct - lots of distracting shadows.

Nice pose, great subject, wonderful expression... but those shadows are a distraction.

I like the pose, she's cute as a button, and her outfit really works with the photo. The color and composition are quite good.
The light is a little harsh. This can be avoided by either bouncing the light off of another surface (a white card or reflector) or diffusing the light (an easy way to do that is to hold a white trash bag up in front of your light).
The thing that really bugs me about this, though, is the makeup. (And please don't take offense at this - I am just stating my opinion and my reaction to this photo.) Unless she is horribly disfigured, she shouldn't need it. I know little girls like to play dress-up and such (and they are terribly cute), but adult-style makeup on small children just really creeps me out. I'm aware that it's a personal preference, and I'm not trying to say that you shouldn't let her wear it, I'm just stating my feelings on it. I think the reason that it bothers me so much in this case is that with the makeup (the eye shadow in particular), she looks like she's trying to grow up too fast, and not necessarily in a good direction. I know that that was not the intent here, and I do indeed understand that it is just a child playing 'dress-up and look pretty for the picture', but for me it's just a case of 'too much'.
With the makeup, it's a decent photo. But I think if you were to reshoot this without the makeup, it would be a charming picture to treasure for years to come.

Nice portrait, needs a little fill light for the shadow of her hand and the brim of her hat.

One more light to get rid of that hat shadow would have helped quite a bit.

Great expression and pose. Composition is great as well, but the light seems a little harsh with too strong of shadows.

Lovely expression captured here. The lighting suffers a little from 'double keylighting' (I see two catchlights in the eye and twin shadows). This can often 'feel' confusing to the viewer.
