The candle was washed out on purpose... I would have liked to have a purple cloth but I did not have it. Tried to make it purple using curves, but it did not work I used curves to make lemons orange (for the purpose of the challenge)

Great colors.

Interesting idea, but they kind of look a little more like oranges. Could just be my monitor I guess.

Poorly set up and the lighting doesn't help. Sorry!

Challenge details say blue/orange or yellow/purple NOT blue/yellow, so sorry DNMC.

you need to be more creative then this to do well...

If the cloth were purple, or if the lemons were oranges, it would have worked out a lot better...

Nice idea. IMO, studio shots have to be tack sharp. I think one needs to sharpen almost too much for it to translate for the web.

the tea light is blown... the background should have been extended to all corners of the frame.

I would have liked the votive lit!
04/29/2006 08:27:37 AM
I think that is a candle in the middle but it is very washed out.
04/29/2006 03:43:26 AM
At least on my monitor there are practically no details visible in the tee light - all white. Otherwise - I like the colors.

a bit off centered and the material in the bottom right corner is distracting to the eye. Otherwise a great idea to contrasting colors.6

Come on... You can do better than this. the white in whatever that is in the middle is blown out making it indiscernable. 4

Well, this lighting is pretty harsh on this one and the shadows are a bit much. I think you could have pulled this off with way less light and a better job setting up your blue t-shirt.

2 - Not sure on the concept. Candle, is blown, whether because it is lit or not not sure, either way blown and one of the first things you see. Fabric is too dominant too, not the color, but the fabric itself. A variation in lighting, composition and cropping likely all have helped this in my opinion.

OK...I am going to be as constructive as possible...the background is not great, particularly in the top right hand corner...the lemons are a bit lame looking and the tea light is tacky...perhaps if you tried this shot from above with a smoothe background??? It's not a good shot...sorry
