I don't want to sound mean, but this just doesn't cut it to me.
The only link to journalism is the title, and even it isn't very descriptive (what bet, with whom, why are elected officials gambling, etc.)
Without the title, I'd think, "Oh, an out of focus shot of plastic flamingos."
Look at the others you are up against and ask yourself honestly whether this one is up to par as a good shot and as showing any real hint of journalism. |

| not a chance. no visual context. there's probably some story-telling potential here, but not the way you've shot it. this is more of a snapshot than anything else. |
