Thanks for all the comments on this. I appreciate all the opinions. I actually tried putting the scull in a more natural position and I hated it. I just couldn’t get it to look right against the grass.
I selected the color tones on this, from one of Sonifo's masterpieces. So it really made my day that you liked the shot Sonja. Thanks for sharing your talent.

I thought for sure yours would beat mine. Not sure what happened, but I like it! Good job! |

One of my top 10 this week! I like how you tilted the photo enhancing the awesome tree in the background. Definitely has that Old West feel. Nice Job :) |

Great touch with the skull, where'd you dig that up :) just kidding. Love the angle of the hill. And I like the sepia. Nice. |

This is a good representation of the topic, but I wonder if it would have been better if the skull hadn't been sitting exactly upright like it was placed there. |

I really like the tone here. This angle makes this photo stands out from other 'Skull & Desert' images. Creative. |

I have a feeling I know which person took this shot. You always do nice work. I'll see if I am correct when the voting ends. High score from me. |

Nice placement of the head; it fits the snarley tree well. Great shot. |

Oooh - this is good. Strong composition, excellent focal points, both a primary one and a second one, and great diagonal. Nice choice of sepia tone too.

Nice shot, but looks staged because of the angle of the skull and dug-up ground around it. Would have been better just to drop the skull randomly for the shot. |

I really like the way you made the tree's grow straight up! |

this feels too manufactured for me -- the uphill slant is such that the skull would fall instead of benevolently surveying |

It’s a good shot, but the skull looks a to staged. If it were on it’s side and half buried in the dirt, I think it would looked more natural. |

Thats what would have made my photo is a skull. I don't like the angle, you should have leveled it |

I like this picture, but the angle is really strange and somewhat unsettling. |
