The use of sepia makes this photo even more striking. |

There's something very compelling about this shot. The love of a loyal friend, although his life may seem desolate, there's joy here too. Nice work. |

Despite this man's obvious plight, he actually looks quite content with his situation in life (at least in this picture). I wouldn't describe this as desolation just because he seems worse off for his disability compared to an able-bodied person. His canine companion probably delivers much happiness, which seems evident. A great shot and an excellent study and capture, but slightly off-brief. |

interesting picture, but poor contrast? could have been fixed in Photoshop. 5 points |

This is a GREAT photograph. The man actually looks happy despite his situation, and the dog looks like he's glad to know him. Good, very good. |

How tragic! I can see the look of love between the man and the dog, but there is stell an overlying sadness in the man's face. |

I think the dog makes the picture seem warm, and maybe not so desolate. Its a touching photo and could maybe use a bit more focus. |

the interaction between the man and dog move this out of desolation and I wonder personally if being an amputee makes for desolation in and of itself |

Be very carefull with this kind of pictures. In this case, the face of the man tell me much more about desolation that the fact he has no legs |
