DOF is very shallow on this one - tie is OOF in one direction and hand appears OOF in the other. Creative interpretation, good use of B&W, could be good stock shot if it was sharper (I'd play around with USM in PS). This could also be a great abstract with the cropping you chose. - 6

good concept but does'nt the subject (i mean with tie and a great form dress) kinda look a bit sophisticated to be broke? also the photo looks to be a bit out of focus??? am i seeing too much here?

Very creative! Nice shot and cropping!

the concept is not so original, but best thing here is the composition...THE PIX IS VERY NEAT. 9

A great, unique picture....I LOVE the idea of it!! :)

I think this was a great depiction. I wonder how it would look if the hand were a little sharper

Hmmm, I know the feeling :) Good entry!

This person does not look particularly bereft of cash to me! He could at least sell his decent clothes before being 'desolate'. Image is too soft focus with too slow a shutter speed. Good composition.

Very nicely composed image. Good contrast and positioning of all the elements in this photo. My only quibble with it is that this person looks too well dressed and well groomed to evoke much sympathy for his lack of pocket change. 8

I think this guy has enough "plastic" to keep from being very desolate. Nice idea, too nice a subject. 5

do you work in marketing? I like the shot

Know this feeling..Too well....great imagination and a touch of humor to an otherwise dismal subject......great job!

well-executed

Very nice. I like your creative approach on the topic. This picture really caught my eye. It's very sharp and the contrast is great! The only thing I have a problem with is the tie looks out of focus. But that's just nit-picky really. Great job!

the truth is in the shiny belt, the tie. this is bad acting, but an allright photo...

An interesting interpretation of the challenge. I like the lighting and the placement on the page. It seems a little soft in the focus and I think in a shot like this, the sharper the better. I like the humor.

This is a stretch.

Funny take on the theme Think we've all been there before!

Oh, I know that feeling at the moment!
Nicely taken shot, well composed, effective background. The choice of smart clothes + tie is great... to me it says that this person is stuck in the loop of a 9-5 existence because they think they never have enough money. It speaks to me of family, mortgage, travel, etc. Great picture! 8

A better title for this might have been "unemployed" Money desolation seems like an odd title. I can relate better to being unemployed or recently graduated or something.

hahaha funny, creative, good photo all around. 8
