Thanks for the comment Enzo..but I have to confess to a mistake when filling in the shoot details.It was taken with my 70-200 F2.8 with a 1.5x adaptor.

Really great capture. The intense focus of both subjects on the ball and the attention of the spectators really makes this shine. The repetition of the red/orange in the seats and the jersey makes the whole thing pop. Bumping this up from an 8 to a 9.

I love the way that the crowd is watching the ball so closely too :-) Pity the seats are the same colour as the defender's shirt - was it a home game for them?
