Dressed for the prom. I debated too long on whether to submit this or my son in the same tux. Who knows- guess I'll see when it's over.
Adjusted contrast and saturation, a few levels and ten neat image. Save for DPC.

Very good work with the exposure here to get detail in the tux and the hat against a black background, and still have the white tie not look blown. About the only "eh" is I don't like the cigar in his mouth. Maybe had he held it in his hand instead?

Greetings from the CC. I am not sure why this shot did not do better, I really like the balck and white and the tones, the textures from his dreads to the 'shiny' tie. I think the black bckgrnd works really well here too. I think what may have added an 'aire of character' and maybe age it a bit is if the cigar was lit. (tho subject looks young to be smoking) I really think this is a great portrait. This guy is totally cool. Could almost be high fashion. I would be curious as to what you used for lighting. I really like the angle of the subject too.
Hopefully this is not insulting comment, but I have travelled to africa a lot and it is much harder to get a correct exposure on black/ dark skinned people. (also harder on very fair skinned folks) I think you did a great job with the exposure. Especially with the dark suit and white tie thrown in.

I think this deserved better. I gave it an 8.

Probably. We can't see clearly - it merges too much with the background.

I like this because it's unexpected on this site. Besides, it's really well done. It's crisp, clean, expressive, nice tones and well composed. If I were going to nitpick; I guess I'd say something about the tip of ear sticking out at left and the glare around eyes (which I only notice because everything else is so smooth).I'm impressed with how you have not lost the dark hair and outfit in the black background. Excellent photo!

Good separaton of dark background against the suit. If you used Neat Image you got just the right amount. Good capture.

It doesn't look like the focus is dead on the eyes. Nice swagger and attitude. Not sure about the cigar ... it cast an ugly shadow.
