 I was in my grandparent's home town this weekend, and this is one of many abandoned and run-down houses in the area.

I desaturated the green channels a bit to give it more of lifeless feeling.

Nice tones. I take it the photo was desaturated? You left enough red to capture interest. I also like the lines in this photo, especially the diagonal tree. Well composed shot!

Personally, I do not feel that this house is in too much of a shambles. From the look of it, it looks like it could stand for another 60 years; I would live in it if I was stuck for money. Perhaps a different shot to show an older more dishevealed area of the house?

At the moment, the subject is the tree, but it should be the house as the tree looks pretty healthy and living which is the opposite of desired desolated-feel. Perhaps walking closer to the house could have elimiated this tree.

However, well done. Good try =)

Nice shot. It seems just a tad faded IMO but the red roof seems to set it off. Meets the challenge. Good DOF and composition. Good luck

Nice photo. I would have tried applying sepia or mono to it to see if it made it look more lonely.
