A quite bizarre image when it first loads. Gotta be a toy house, but the title is a bit odd and it leaves me feeling that I'm missing something. [5] |

This is very interesting use of negative space. (I know that's not what this particular challenge is about, but this photo does happen to display effective use of negative space.) The little house certainly looks isolated, but I'm not sure that it also looks desolate. |

Is it miniture? Great idea I think. The theme is carried out very well by the composition and supported by the contrast of the B&W. Good work. |

Good idea, but I would prefer a lower point of view. |

How wonderfully minimalist. Good composition. Feels somewhat blown out towards top left.

I really wanted to rate this one higher. It just screams desolation, but the scale is just too "off". I'm sorry only a 6...... |

Abandoned buildings do not desolation make, but this is an exception. Incredible shot! |

nice sandbox or beach setup. would be more believable with a few other props |

Excellent entry. A key ingrident to a desolation image, in my opinion, is to have a lone subject that is dwarfed by its surroundings with a sense of depth and unendingness. This does it all. Your exposure is great, too. You've kept good detail in the shadows and kept some detail in the "sand?" towards the top. Is this a real landscape or a model? |

Is this a real building in the middle of nowhere or is that a prop in the sand?? Either way, very good shot! |

Interesting shot, very effective. Just a couple of things bother me... the composition seems a little off to me... the house is too near the corner for my taste.
The light tones are very effective, but they're just a tad too blown out in the top left. These are fairly small things that bother me though. 8 |

Wow. When and where was this? This should have been in the news ... it's destruction and desolation in biblical proportions. |
