Was originally an ice luge (to take shots out of shots) at a partu, and I saw it the next day utterly melted away, but taking a much more interesting shape, in a bin and immediately saw the capabilities. So I took her two floors up to my room (almost dropped her twice) and set up, took about 120 to get this..but that's how it goes. Hope it does well, cause I soaked my carpet doing it. Ice melts!

Oh and setup was just 3 pieces of old white matte board and two lamps set up until it was intersting. Set the camera White Balance to incandescent mode to get the lamps' light colored properly and the natural sunlight blue.

"Puddled Victory" is a wonderful image into the Still Life II challenge. Not too bad of a finish in the top twenty percent, but I do have to say I thought it would finish closer to top ten.

This piece has amazing focus on capturing the light. I love all the lines and shapes you included. Great choice going with the blue for lighting and background, it adds to the cold effect. I almost get mesmerized looking at it like an abstract piece trying to see something in the ice. Personally I see a bunny, like the Easter chocolate. This is a great piece I love the light reflecting even on the inner smooth side. Wonderfully composition, the placement of the subject is great.

Overall great work, I would say all of your effort was defiantly worth the final piece. I look forward to your future pieces.

This meets the challenge - inanimate and arranged. In a way... Striking image.

This intrigues me as I have no idea what it is. I think it's ice but then I want to be able to identify it as 'something' (an ice sculpture, or icicle or such). This has too much form to be purely abstract so my mind wants it to BE something. I love the blues and the lighting.

This is an AWESOME shot. :) I like the sharp focus, the glimmer of light coming off the edge of the ice, the cool blue tones, and the shapes in the background. Absolutely beautiful.
