Almost straight from the camera. This little guy happened to be in a beam of sunlight the moment I noticed him. Otherwise tree coverd and well shaded natural spring - Gennie Springs, Florida. I was so pleased with the shot because it looks almost surreal. I adjusted levels to brighten it a touch and enhanced his red hair. That's it. Good luck, little guy.

Think I would've liked this more if the rest of the surrounding where not burned out of the image.

Bumping you up to 10. I did this as a kid and this brings back memories. Good framing, great lighting - the darkness at the top of the pic moving down to some light on the water looks cool. The contrast of the kids skin and tube against the darkness and green of the water is excellent. Fun shot.

Great detail, fun, light. I really like this as an entry for this challenge, although i'm afraid the lack of face is going to hurt your score from amny voters. It displays an engagement with his environment, an insouciant absorption that is well communicated. Nice shooting, and I hope it does better for you than I fear it might.

more of a candid thatn a portrait. The subject in a portrait is normally posed to some extent with the face being viewable

To me, a portrait should include the face of the subject. The lighting is good on the person and tube, but the water is too dark IMO.

This is a very sweet picture, with his feet splashing in the water. However, I don't knwo about the dark background. It makes it very dark and mysterious, and I'm not sure that's the mood that was meant to be conveyed. This is just an observation...

In my opinion, DNMC

Photograph a portrait that says something about the subject within the framework of their own environment.

The darkness of the water brings in a mysterious element. Something unknown and frightening. I was always afraid of dark waters, and they were always so cooooold! Super shot!
