Never done still life before. Thought this setup might at least get a chuckle out of some. Ate more fruit in one day than I have in years. Waited for the rain to stop and setup outside to get the lighting without shadows. I actualy placed a piece of raw fish in the bowl in hopes of attracting a fly or two.

Cropped, levels, saturation, unsharpen mask, save for web, Neat IMage, border

That is BRILLIANT! One of the best takes on the cliche that I've seen!

Sorry i'm so late to get to you,

This is a very creative take on the theme. Lighting is very good, all soft and subtle, without any harsh shadows.

The one thing that I would suggest is a darker background, and maybe a touch more contrast on the image.

Another image that's even better after the challenge. Challenges (sometimes) hinder pleasurable viewing and appreciation of images.

I love this image and think it should have scored higher. Sometimes I think humorous shots are at a disadvantage with DPC voters...but not with me. Good technique and lighting. I like the color of the background given all the complementary yellow in the subject.

I really like this image, I didn't vote on it but would have given it 8.

the setup looks really good, even though I like to have some fruit left on the fruit ;)
the only thing i dislike in the image is the white cloth or whatever it's called under the fruits, it's not old enough to look renaissance, and it doesn't look like 20th century either. it's just bright white and steals the attention from that great setup, that's why you wouldn't get a 10 from me :)

Homer Simpson still life? This is a nice humorous take on a still life - scored pretty well, too - you've just gotten spoiled lately, and well, there's that having the wife get the blue ribbon and all... :-) I like the concept a lot, like the use of a continuous background - even like that it's purple, which seems to work for some reason. I do think it needs to be either a tighter crop, or have more room to the right and the top. Very cool idea - nice execution - and the score ain't bad either.

I really thought this was a top ten for sure. Your lighting is great, the composition awesome and the idea among the most creative of the challenge. I laughed. I really don't know what you could have done differently. Maybe using a darker background would have added more contrast, thus more pop to the shot. I think it was well seen and well executed. It was one of my favorites in the challenge. Only your wife was more creative.

I was greatly amused by this. Cool idea. I gave this a 7 in voting. The lighting was great, your background color was great. I really don't remember why I didn't vote this higher.

This got a real laugh from me - great idea. Only comment I would make is that there is too much background showing. I would have set up a tighter shot or cropped more but well done.

Definitely a still life. I understand you took the opposite stance here, rather than doing a traditional still life you decided to do one of eaten fruit. Definitely a twisted and interesting interpretation, but the image came off more unpleasant than anything.

This meets the challenge - inanimate and arranged. I hope you enjoyed arranging it :-) I sort of dislike it for being a joke, but I think it works. The clean doily, bowl and background against the violated fruit. heh 7
