Hi from Critique Club Yahooooo
Composition - Composing a subject like this is very hard especially when you’re taking the photograph yourself. I did notice part of you head cut off just a tad. This kind of throws the composition a little. I would have tried a different angle in order to still be conscious of the photograph as well was getting yourself in the frame completely. Maybe an angle from the top coming down to the ground this would have had you looking more up at the camera rather than straight on. I do like the pose though very intriguing and unique.
Set-up & Camera - Choice of Lighting – The lighting choice is very good in the sense you stuck to one light source to illuminate the subject. However it is just a tad harsh causing loss in contrast. An easy fix for this could have been using a white bed sheet over the window as a diffuser to make the light a little more subtle increasing the overall contrast.
The ISO, DOF, Shutter Speed were all the good choice. I am assuming your were going for noise in the photograph and the DOF makes the photograph start focusing from your eyes out towards the rest the of the body.
Post Processing - The photograph is a little flat. Some things to fix this could have been using dodge and burn to create some dimension and texture. This would have also created a harsher contrast.
Opinion - The photograph fits the challenge very well as it is a self portrait. My reaction when first looking at the photograph was just wonderful eyes you have. I would have done more of a head shot with your shoulders in the same pose. This would have brought your eyes more into play and the shoulders and arms would have created curves, the beauty of women, “Curves”. This would have also helped fill the frame at little more.
Cheers,
Hiral

shame to see how poorly this finished. I think was better than many of the top 10. Good job and keep up the good work. Love the B&W with this image. it fits so well. Don't get down; the pic was well done. Hopefully we will see more from you rather than every 3 years, don't get down on the average, Don't know what some of the voters are looking / voting for?

Congratulations on good score on your first submission. I noticed that you registered three years back and this is your first submission. Hope we will see more of you now :) I think the image would have done even better if it was not "flat" (low contrast). Overall a good work which had great scope of PP. Goodluck for future submissions. |

It's actually a very respectable finish for your first submission.
I personally rated this image very highly and am surprised it didn't finish closer to the top. I look forward to seeing more of your work. |

Excellent concept for this challenge. I wish that your face and eyes were a little sharper since they are the main focal point. I think the pose is good and the lighting looks fine. I notice some image grain which I think would be fine sometimes, though I think the soft skin tones and soft lighting call more a smoother image without grain. |

Nice picture, a little too soft. |

I think the photo is executed well, but the contrast in the conversion to b&w isn't right. I think your darks should be much darker. As it is, it looks like we're looking at you through hazy glass. |

cropping more of the legs would have made it even stronger |

I like the lighting, I like the pose. I find your face intriguing, it exudes character, seems eager to show your real Self. I am captured by your look, not by the skin being shown. The nakedness is in your spirit, your openness.
The left fingers below the right elbow seem to indicate that you are relaxed, as does resting your chin on the right wrist... I find this a wonderful portrait; a celebration of you! |

There is a lot of grain and you are right between a high key photo and black and white |

Nice high tones, shadows are very noisy. The cut on the hair doesn't feel right. Perhaps some more space at the top or a tighter crop would work better. |

The high-key treatment is very effective, as is the cutoff at top and bottom. |

Nice shot...a lot of noise in the shadows. Perhaps was not exposed enough for high key processing? |

I like the softness, the reveal and the crop. My favorite in the competition thus far. Good job! |

Very brave.
I would have liked to have seen a bit more contrast. Feels a little flat. |

I see your going for the soft look at it's great. I think it would benefit from sharpening the eyes. 8 |

Lovely shot and nice pose, you are definately very attractive. However, the image quality is really letting you down here, the image is very flat and could use some serious contrast boost, much better lighting and clarity. |

Except for the softness in the eyes this is a very good portrait. Love the chin resting on the hand, love the soft b&w treatment as well as the clean background. The wet hair tops it off beautifully and it wouldn't surprise to see this finish near the top. |

Great shot, really. More sharpness, contrast and some work on the noise and it would be top notch. I don't think you were going for a high key here, but maybe you were. Great pose. |
