Didn't really know what to submit to the challenge and when I saw this dead tree I thought that would fit one way or the other. Too bad I didn't notice ISO was still set to 200, there is some noise visible in the sky due to this.

Cropped, resized, USM, changed contrast and brightness.

The lighting is working against you here. Top of tree is overexposed and foreground is dark. Maybe fill flash would help (or photographing at different time of day.)

Nice angle and blue sky. The green on the left pulls me away from the subject.

I'd like to see this one taken just before the sun rose or just after it sets. As it ism the light/shadow split is a bit too centered. Nice job meeting the challenge.

Doesn't look to be in focus and there is a lot of noise in the sky. Good composition, though.

I love the colors, but actually wish the sky wasn't so blue. It would have been nice if the sky was overcast and washed out. Then you'd have a colder feel to the whole image. Also, I think that subtle, diffused lighting on the tree (i.e. shot in Golden Hour) would have looked better to emphasize the idea that the tree is dead than these harsh mid-day shadows.
