I like the idea you were going for here, but I think the lighting actually hurt your score more than anything (that and the fact that this type of subject matter usually doesn't garner the highest marks). The flash? highlights behind her head are distracting, as are the highlights on her face - they don't seem to "match" the mood of the rest of the shot. When you're going for something this far removed from the mainstream on DPC, you've really got to nail the technical aspects of the shot in order to get a decent score - at least that's my experience. (And trust me, I've had more than my fair share of the LOW end of the results of that experimentation! LOL)

Things that I think work in this shot are the tilted angle, the blank stare, and the color tone choices. Again, I believe the flash killed ya here - otherwise I think you would have gotten a pretty good score. It garnered a 5 from me as is. :-) Keep at it and keep those creative juices flowing. You'll get there!

Unflattering photo that only fits the challenge due to photoshop abuse.

She's looking a little green around the gills!

Over processed in my opinion. There's also a highlight which appears yellow-ish in the right, and that is really confusing for the viewer becuase it appears that the light source is one thing, and then you get a different temperature of light in the shot.

Not fond of the overexposed face or green tones....it's too fake looking.
