This is the central tall shoot of a yucca plant in my neighborhood. It's probably 20 feet tall. I positioned myself to have the lamppost hidden by the plant.
D'oh! ISO was set to 400...grrrrr...hence the need for the following noise reduction.
Adjusted in RSE: tint, slight exposure compensation, fill light, shadow contrast, highlight contrast, saturation, hue, sharpness, noise and color noise suppression.
In Photoshop: set white, black and grey points, cropped, USM, slight saturation bump, curves, NeatImage, resize, USM, saved for Web. |

Thanks for the comments!
Unfortunately, just about a week later a storm blew over the plant. The owners righted it, but cut it down to about six feet tall. I would have liked to see if it would have produced flowers.
Oh, and maybe it's not a yucca...new information I received indcates it's probably a Century Plant, or agave.
And now it's gone completely...

That's kind of cool. I'd like to see a bit more depth in the clouds / sky - might be good with levels and curves in Photoshop if you've got it. If not, then possibly another photo processing program to give the sky a bit more interest. I like the simplicity of this shot a lot. I like the way you've got the entire tree in, with the empty space at top. |
