Really sorry for how late these critiques are...
I like the composition, with the nicely busy fireworks and the simple head centred horizontally. However, I'd prefer more black empty space around the face, which gets lost.
Other than this, I do like the picture - it's not your best but it has a nice quirkiness to it and very well suited to the challenge. |

I'm afraid this one doesn't do too much for me. While it is appropriate for the idea of "indulgence" all of the packages are just too busy for my taste. Colors are good. Focus is fine. Not much more I can say. I would have scored it a 5 had I been in town. |

hello again,
i wonder who the kid is really? lol.
it is a nice shot but i thought it was a bit too much. yeah i know indulgence in and of itself is too much, but i would have liked them thrown around or messed about so there was something more in the frame. i also thought that putting yourself in, while was a great idea, was done in the wrong way..... i would have rather seen you playing with them like lighting one or something.
still, it is an overall great shot nice technical performance as always. well done. |

Trading Post comment:
Really glad you didn't light the sparkler... the ensuing explosions probably would have made for an interesting albeit very "blown" shot. Definitely meets the challenge; very colorful, extremely sharp, fairly well exposed except as you noted with respect to your face. All that said, I'd probably have given it a 6. A good challenge entry, but you have lots better pictures. :-) |

nice setup, not a very good image though, but I think you knew that and were just fishing for comments.
every newyear we burn fireworks for over $ 20.000.000 in Iceland, thousands of tourist come to Iceland just before newyear to experience this show that everyone takes a part in and lasts for about 5 hours.
your setup would cost at least $1000 here, as fireworks are sold by rescue squads to support their work.
hope you have fun burning all of them :) |

The centered composition makes this one feel much more static than I think is best for such an "explosive" picture :)
Nice smile, but I'm not sure how your "face could have been better" :) |

Trading post...
Wow, I'd go to jail for that in Jersey. Nice stash! I think you needed just a little more lighting on your face, it seems to be lit from one side. Maybe just a little more sharpness on the lettering of the fireworks. Other than that I don't see anything wrong with it. Nice picture! |

Is that just $350 worth of fireworks. In Iceland that would cost about $3500 and there are people that spend even more! |

excellent concept, composition and execution, nothing to change - 10
(but you shouldn't spend that much on crackers, there are lots of people that could live years on $350) |

Have a happy 4th of July. I wonder if people in countries outside the United States knows the meaning/significance of July 4th. If not, they may score lower than the photo deserves. |

LOL!! That silly smiling face right in the middle of the photo made me laugh. He looks sort of demented (no offense!!)....like he is just giddy with the thought of blowing up all those fireworks. Great photo and setup! |
