| I like the simplicity of this design, and the texture of the hat. At first the background bothered me, but then, as i looked at it, I decided that it actually added to the character of the hat. I would recommend moving further ot your right next time, so that you can't see into the other room. karmat |

| A great idea, but did you try putting the hat in different places to see if it looked any better somewhere esle than on the rack? the lighting and texture are nice but the photo leaves me wondering what if. |

I'm not exactly sure why, but I'm not very fond of this - could be the composition or overall subject. Sorry but focus is good, but lighting is a little dark

| Nice shot of the hat and the lhs is great. RHS of the picture lets it down especially the shadow. |

For those that are just learning, like me.
Composition: Scoring in this area is based on basic composition of a picture and includes the rule of thirds, balance, cropping, and curved and diagonal lines. Subject matter that does not lend itself to the picture or otherwise unwanted is also considered here.
Originality: Scoring in this area is based on pictures or concepts that I have seen, as well as how much effort you have invested in the picture. Usually a little something that sets it aside from a snapshot. Does it make me want to come back for another look? You know things like that.
Technical Aspects: Focus, exposure, lighting, and other special effects (done by the camera), and post processing are all considered in this category.
Meets Challenge: This is based on my interpretation of if you, have/have not, met the challenge. This is fairly simple but quite important for this site.
There are many sites that can give you assistance in achieving better skills in photography, but I think the best way to learn is to take pictures and show them to other people. Believe me when it is a good one you will know it.

the hat has nice texture, but the photo is busy. too many elements present in my opinion. also, the black void beneath the hat is distracting. a photo of just the texture of the hat (or part of it) with only the wood-grain in the background would have worked better for me. ~mcmurma

| the hat is nice, but the background seems very distracting to me. having the door closed in the background and none of the wallpaper (left side?) in the picture would have helped, in my opinion. 4 beegee |
