First impression - Pretty flower, nice composition.
This bokeh thing is difficult to capture. Most definitions of bokeh include some sort of out of focus highlights. However, the blue and the yellow ribbon winners didn't really have that. So bokeh has evolved it seems to be something with out of focus elements that add to the composition. In that case, you were successful. The main flower is very sharp and the background completely blurred.
The shadow falling on the middle of the flower probably takes a but of the impact away. Choosing a flower more in the light and shooting at a different time of day might have helped. The quality of light is excellent.
This is a good shot of a pretty flower that is lacking a certain "wow" factor needed to score higher at DPC.

| I would have liked this even more if you maybe were able to cut the shading in the center of the flower by using a light or something. Also I am not super sure that bokeh is just dof. I don't see the circles of light. Very pretty though. |
