there have been no post process editing. no cropping. i used one light source from a bed side lamp(60w). i used orange clothing and lipstick to capture the lighter tones of the apple and the red backdrop to capture the darker tones of the apple. the apple is rotten to create symbolism and contrast in texture. a dull light reflects of the apple but a strong reflection creates more interest in the shinning lipstick. the rotten apple is symbolic of a life source, the fur and lipstick symbolic of young, promiscuous females. the soft focus creates distance and empathy.

Not enough in focus here. Also you color balance is off, you have a red/yellow color cast over your entire image. Try natural light next time instead of the flash which can be harsh that close to a subject.

Entire image seems to be out of focus and lacking any sort of bokeh.

... is out of focus too

Yes? What about it? It needs to be in sharper focus, and the background shouldn't be the same color.

I just cant tell if this is done as an effect or what part you were focusing on to get the bokeh effect.

Ok, the idea could definately work but you need your subject (the hand holding the apple) to be in sharp focus and fill more of the frame, to draw attention to it and an even shallower DOP to blur the background. Also her fingers are burnt from too harsh lighting, so I would try and use a softer light source and move it off even more to one side and concentrate it on the apple and less on the person in the background since that distracts from the subject. Hope that helps

I would like to see the apple more in focus. The light source seems harsh.

it is hard to tell what is in focus - although I like that her lips have a thick shiny orange lipstick! That's interest added, I believe!

The colors are fun, but the image it just too blurry. The apple should have been in focus to really nail this image.
