Sorry to be so late with critiques
I think you've succeeded well in capturing the bee with the flower, and enhancing it with b/g bokeh. The colours and the focus on the flower are good. The main problem here for me is that the bee is soft - I'm not sure if that is motion blur or if the bee is outside the plane of focus. I would also prefer the background flowers to be slightly further away (or shallower DOF) to enhance the bokeh.
Also, a slight change in placement could have put the b/g flowers offset against the f/g flower, making the composition a touch less busy.
I would suggest cropping in the righthand side so that the flower is not centralized. |

that is a gorgeous shot of the iris and a beautiful iris it is.

Trading Post - Not a bad shot. Way to go on catching a flying bee. I think if you could have caught him in focus and had the flower be your bokeh in front you may have scored some more points. Nice colors and the background bokeh works pretty good. I think the crop may be just a tad bit too tight as I think I would have liked to have seen the whole head of the flower in the shot. |

This did pretty well for a flower shot! :-) Love the crisp focus on the foreground flower and nice choice of subject as that's a particularly lovely bloom. The bee is a welcome addition as it adds interest but you should have convinced him to fly into the picture rather than out of it - doesn't he understand the rules of composition? Well lit, good color, and nice bokeh to boot. |

Trading post...
Nice capture. I followed a bee around for about an hour before giving up. Nice placement in such a large field too! Your bokeh is wonderful and the purple's/blue's are excellent. |

Wow! ... this is excellent as far as DOF, focus, captured moment and color. As far as nature and beauty this one defines them. |
