Challenge: Motion Blur II (Advanced Editing IV*)
Camera: Canon EOS-350D Rebel XT
Lens: Canon EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM
Location: upstairs
Date: Jun 25, 2006
Aperture: 11
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1.6 sec

Date Uploaded: Jun 25, 2006

the setup wasn't too bad. I put a piece of yellow fabric on a glass table, then i cut a hole in a black piece of posterboard. i then cut out the batman symbol and placed in the middle of the yellow fabric. I put a flood light under the glass table pointing through the yeloow fabric and hole in the poster board.

I achieved the blur by zooming.

post proccesing included rotating canvas, cropping and usm. then I use the clone tool to sharpen the edges of the big light and the big batman symbol. I then darkened the big batman symbol a bit with a brightness contrast layer.

One of the really underrated images from the challenge. There where a couple of other photos that used the zooming in/out motion blur technique so I wonder why so many folks didnt get it.

unfortunately, you've done this so well and effectively, you've gone and pretty wiped out much of the motion blur! but it's a fun playful homage to the original concept. 6.
