Greetings from the Critique Club!
WOW! What a shot! What a beautiful, wonderful shot! And yes, I do get the reference being the owner of several animals, small birds included and remember hearing about the Febreeze scare.
So you title makes me laugh and it fits his expression. I just love big birds and this shot is amazing to me.
Looking at your score I'm betting you got hit more with DNMC votes than votes on the shot itself. There is little here I can offer in the way of critique. It's well composed, lighting is a bit harsh but not overly so, the colors are wonderful, maybe could be tweeked just a touch to make them pop a little more, a touch more levels or curves adjustment, just a touch and a touch of sharpening to really define the eyes and feathers. Other than that I can't see any other really technical things you can do with this shot. The wing is leading me in to that beautiful face and eye and the feathers around his eye and on top of head help me back out the other side. You might have loosened the crop just a bit on the right for a touch more balance and maybe crop a touch more off the bottom, maybe putting his eye on the top third for the rule of thirds.
But honestly I think your score is more a DNMC reflection because not a lot of people have heard about the Febreeze legend unless they also had animals.

What I like: The texture of the image is great along with the reason for the wow factor.
What I didn't like: Might be just a tiny tiny bit out of place in this challenge. |

I don't get it (I live in Spain) but that doesn't mean a lower vote.
The photo is excellent with very bright colors and great details.

| Doesn't work at all for me. Personaly I havn't heard of any UL with Frebreeze as a deodorant and a parrot? Maybe I missed one or two. The colours don't pop enough for me ither. Maybe uping the saturation a touch. |
