This was taken at home against a black fabric backdrop, with overhead room lighting, plus one 100w lamp to the left and one 100w lamp to the front right. The idea behind the "wonky" chain was to suggest movement over the palm. I was disappointed with the appearance of the ring - it was a gold wedding band and I'd have liked to have captured the gold tones but this didn't work. The image was cropped, resized and the levels/colours adjusted.

Nicely composed with the extreme vertical framing. Well done.

The ring is a little blown out as far as brightness/exposure is concerned. If it weren't for that I would have rated perfect for lighting, and 2 for aesthetics. Focus could have been a bit sharper on the chain for the ring.

Simple. For some reason the string doesn't look plumb to me. In the end, I think there just isn't enough here to keep the eye interested for too long. 5

I've seen this done with a pencil, I put you in the top 20 for a simple idea with sharp focused shot

Its a nice image... but not sure if it works. Maybe a little movement in the ring would have helped give it more intrest.
