Challenge: Repetition (Classic Editing)

If this is nothing else it IS repetition. I lined these beads up and took about 20 shots trying to find something I liked.

This is only my second attempt at actually setting up something to shoot. I've had my digital camera for awhile, but have always just pointed and clicked.
I used adjustment layers (learned about this in the forums...I learn something new every day. Thank you, thank you!)for briteness, contrast, saturation.....and I forget what else but it was all legal. :)

Beads! I just love beads and beadwork - my other favourite hobby besides photography!!!

Probably intentional but I think it would have been better without the washout lighting.

Definitely repetition here. I like the format and the fact that you almost paired the different beads up. I think the two areas that let you down are the frame (althugh others might say the opposite, it's very much personal taste) and the lighting. You are obviously trying for high-key and an even background ... depending on your camera, try using the EV balance, you'll be amazed just how much you have to overexpose compared to your camera's default metering, plus it'll look better because the edges of objects will be better defined. As usual, this is of course just my personal opinion :)

the lighting on this is way too harsh. it washes out the edges of the beads....

The lighting is interesting, though it sets up a bit more contrast than I personally like or think is effective. The biggest "gripe" (mind you it is only my opinion) is that the picture seems off kilter to me. Maybe it needs to be rotated a touch clockwise to even it, or ccw to make it obviously off line.

Great beads! The photo seems a bit washed out, but overall composition works for me! :)

I like this photo. It fits the challenge well, has good color and holds my interest. I like the shapes of the shadows and the color that shows in them. Good job :)

The top half of the picture is overexposed and there is quite a bit of detail lost there..

Good subject, but it's a little too out of focus.

Tiny bit overexposed. The highlights are bleached out. Also the whole image appear to be pixelated (maybe too much compression?). Nice colour combination. Try experimenting with different setups as well for more interesting composition.
