 The idea behind the photo was to isolate a single member of a troop of soldiers standing in formation within a narrow depth of field. I was endeavoring to make a statement regarding the nature of the armed forces. While the military is dependant on the need for conformity and group discipline it is underpinned by the strength of character of the individual soldiers. I used an aperture priority and extended the lens to its maximum focal length of 300. To be frank it didn’t really turn out as I planned because the darker terracotta soldier in front of the one I wanted to emphasis is too in-focus and is distracting. This is my first attempt at a dpchallenge so I would appreciate your comments.

Your focus point bing the darkest statue is spot on. You might want to consider cropping the top a little bit to eliminate the gray area in the top left corner.

Great idea, but would have like to see a little more depth re the image of the figures, and maybe just a little stronger in the focusung as well.....
