 Lit solely by the television and whatever light filtered through the curtain.

Shot RAW and converted in ACR.
Postprocessing in PSCS2 consisted of curves, levels, resizing, sharpening and adding a small frame/border.

The exposure and composition of this image is perfect. The eyes are a bit over the top on the girl on the left, which looks cartoonish compared the girl on the right. You might want to try a black border for this image, as the red one just doesn't look right.

it'd be nice if they werent so close to the wall in the background so the floor would just extend.

Great idea and nicely executed! I just wish the young girls eyes looked more natural - the expression looks a little forced. Very cool idea though!! I hope you are scoring well!
