essentially just a crop and resize. I tested alot but kept nothing else. This is the scene at the local unemployment office; so state, so government. I hope it does ok , but I really don't care if its last if someone sees some good color texture or subject matter.

I liked the color red versus the tan, the uneven spacing of the chairs, the perspective and the abstract boring repetitiveness of the shot. Not typical exploding heartwrenching dpc fare. Not that you really needed me to write all this, but I am a lawyer in Ct, and I mostly do disability law; I was at a state office for a fair hearing, and I did notice that the hearings office was starkly empty. I really was going for "tongue in cheek" or perhaps sarcastic meaing of the "progress" - and you almost hit it on th ehead; there is no one there, so the thought is it is working but it is not; an arbitrary cut-off equals no more assistance. The fact that the chairs were locked together, and that they were empty goes to show that welfare reform just created really nice chairs.

"It's not related to the subject."
I really wish people would stop and think before writing this stuff. You post a shot that simply asks the viewer to think a little bit, and you get a response like that.
Well thought out, well conceived...and yes I understand why people want a least to see one person for the shot to hit them more...but hey if there isn't anyone there? I am a fan of reality...nice work.

It's not related to the subject.

it is very poweful but you should of had someone sit off center in the back or middle to make it even better

Using perspective from the left or right may have provided a more dramatic effect.

Pretty well exposed. I like the texture on the chair upholstery. Not too keen on yellowish cast overall. Photo itself isn't necessarily progress; only the title makes it so.

So sad....

You got that right! Better centering unless there is some hidden meaning I don't see?

Without a title, this is simply a shot of chairs in a room. With the title, one would expect to see a room full of people waiting, unless the point is that welfare reform is working and no one is waiting, in which case, the "take a number" part is a bit misleading.

I'd have liked the gap in charis at the right filled up but other than this it is nice and simple

Nice shot and very arty ! However I am missing a chair on the right side. This gap makes the picture look slightly unbalanced.

The message is clear, but the picture is not compelling.
