 Progress to me is the life of this little bird... every breath it takes is important to one this tiny, every day it will double its body weight for a week or more. It amazes me how something so tiny, so underdeveloped, has all the organs and structures it needs in order live.

A 1 day old baby House Sparrow that I am rehabbing right now with a House Sparrow egg that Ive had for years (which I forgot to dust off!) inside a fake nest.

My camera is a cheap piece of crap and will not focus on what I want it to (as in the BIRD and the EGG at the SAME TIME!!). I guess I should consider myself lucky that it focuses at all seeing as how more than 80% of the photos I take with it come out horribly blurry. Ok, Im done complaining now... till next time.

way to go the extra step for the photo, it may be an illusion but you appear to be pretty high up in that tree

Dang that thing is ugly! The nest looks too perfect in a way, like a woven basket, and seems seriously clean to be a bird's nest. Good composition, with the inclusion of the greenery behind.

I'm sorry, I'm just not into these kinds of photos. The 'chick' looks totally in focus but the egg is not...in focus...to me. Maybe it's just me?

Cracking. Personally I'd have a tighter crop, as I think the nest and greenery are a bit dead.

Why that's one really egg-shaped baby bird. Nice composition. Personally I would like to see the whole image in focus.

The alinement of the bird and the egg really makes this image. You might want to consider a square crop that includes just the in focus portion of the nest. The out of focus portion and the greenery are non-benefical negative space imho. 8
