 Some sort of vine creeping every so quietly along a section of barbed wire fence. It's a Texas kind of thing; I kinda like it. Sadly, the area where I found this is rapidly being developed and fences like this will be torn down and replaced with boring wood "privacy" fences. Such is progress.

PP - crop, levels, bit of sat, USM, and that lovely NeatImage thing to tone down the noise in the background.

The photo is simple and to a certain extend plain.. but I love the story it's tell.. couple with the title.. i seemed to be able to feel the story you're trying to tell..

It's a photo with a lot of feel and I love it.. :)

I really like the simplicity of this shot. I wish more of the wire was in focus, but that's pretty nit picky. The green bokeh sets up the subject nicely.

Simplicity at it best..... I love this one, as it has everything one needs in a photo, great subject, that no one would proberly ever use, Simple style, with no clutter, great DOF, in the background as well.

Very pretty and understated, the best kind of photograph. The bokeh is very cool; the contrast between the vine and the metal wire is excellent.

Yay Melethia! I just found out this pic was yours. This was one of my top four pics for this challenge. Awesome shot. Normally I would have left a comment during voting but I had a busy week...just had to blow by...but I left you an 8 on the way! : ) Congratulations on a great finish!

Simplicity as beauty. What a wonderful concept and execution. I love the contrast between the barbed wire and the tender shoot. The DoF is excellent, highlighting the vine. Congratulations on your 11th place finish...and new addition to your five PB images.

Next time someone complains that they can't think of anything worth while to photograph I'll send them to this image and maybe they will get the idea that there is beauty in the simplest of things...if creatively conceived and marvelously executed. Well done and inspirational.

Narrow DOF aids in making this a really nice, simple composition. However, the lack of sharpness all the way across the wire is a bit distracting. Still, nice image.

simple and yet matches the challenge perfectly, I only wish the depth of field was alittle deeper so that the entire wire and plant were in focus, still bumping up

I don't usually care much for the barbed wire shots, but this one is really nice. I like the contrast of the green background and the brown and silber wire. And the progression of the plant along the wire is very effective.

I like this mix of man-made barriers being used by nature as it carries on it's inexorable growth. Great background too and composition works.

This image is very well done and worthy of being on the front page. After the challenge you may want to clone out the green stem on the far right hand side of the image, as having the plant growth end in the middle of the wire will project the feeling that the progression of growth is continuing. 8

This is a beautiful photo! amazing how the crisp, sharp green vine stands out so much even tho the background is green. I love the bokeh circles in teh background. This is one of my favorites!
