 i painted a strawberry with corn syrup then rolled it in non pareil sprinkles. i first tried to hold it with a fork bit could not get the lighting on the fork just the way I wanted it, so I stuck it in one of these small wedding favor glasses. I'm not sure I like this. I prefer stark white backgrounds but those never get the scores i hoped for, and last time a few people suggested my white background being a different color might help. so I tried a colored background. hope it helps. :)

dodged the bottom of strawberry
selective color (masked hand, i think some of that still shows but i cant seem to fix it)
cloned out some freckles
resized
and sharpened again.

I think thats it.

Hehe... reminds me of the cover of the book "A Million Little Pieces" (or something close to that). I like this picture a lot. Technically well done. Creative, too.
