This conjures up an image of Fred Astaire dancing with top hat, tails, and of course the cane. The gradient background from light to dark is interesting, and compositionally it's good, although perhaps cropping the bottom off just below the cane gives it a much stronger diagonal, but then it seems the hat looks a little unbalanced that way. I admit to not being a fan of the tight vertical crop, but that's a personal preference - it's like a crumb instead of the whole cookie. This frame, however, introduces a glimpse into the past.

I'd like to have seen more of the shot than the frame allows, but it is really nice anyway.

Hmm. I actually like the fact that there is a little contrast between the subject and background. I also like how you chose to crop the photo. Both aspects make for an interesting photo. My top pick of the week so far.

Excellent! Perfect simplicity aptly titled. Lighting is perfect to capture the varying shades of black and grey. Very well done.

Nice low key, with one bright object to attract the eye. I like the composition too. Even the large border add something . 10
