 I originally was going to submit a shot of just the daisy on the black background, but then I reread the challenge description, and realized the subject needed to be black and white, not just the photo. So this is my attempt to avoid people saying my subject is not black and white Ü.
The light for this was a window, with some white foam board as reflectors.
PP- This is the first time I've shot in raw. Started with raw essentials, and adjusted the exposure and higlight details. Then in PS I adjusted the curves slightly to vamp up the black background, edited out some tiny paint sploches, resized and sharpened. I'm still losing some petal detail, which isn't making me happy, but I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
OK, now after all the debate in the forums, I'm guessing this will get slammed for not being a totoally black and white picture. Sigh. I like it, though, and the way I read the challenge, it was supposed to be a black and white subject.

i think i would've given a better vote if all non-b&w were painted but the absolute last stroke of black, still sweet though.

Actually, I liked the idea here. The image says a great deal artistically, beyond just the challenge. Very well rendered image.
