This does have a little DOF but most of the blur is motion. The dice were dropped from about a foot above a white piece of paper on glass so they'd bounce well. It took quite a few captures to get something that was decent. In retrospect, I probably could have shot a little differently to get a better result of motion.

The movement shown makes the shot

Nice idea, but I find hte shallow depth of field to be a bit distracting

I like this idea, but the motion blur.....

Snicker. Yep, they are.

The title helps me relax about the focus, since now it seems like the dice are moving while someone shoots craps. It'd be better if it showed motion trails, as another dice shot did.

But that's a bit too much of a reach, since I generally think the photo should stand on its own.

I totally agree with your title. :-) Nice photo. Meets the challenge appropriately. A larger DOF might have improved the photo.

Not bad picture but clearly lacking the focus.

The out of focus dots on the right die bug me, but c'est la vie :) Nice job.

I would have liked it more if the front of the right hand dice wasn't blurred.

This must've been a very tricky shot to take. You need that fast shutter speed; but you really don't need that narrow depth of field.

The blur on the right-hand die actually creates a nice sense of motion, though I think it's focus blur rather than speed blur. But a nice effect, nonetheless.
