After taking 15 or so pictures of the sun streaming through trees in the middle of an old cranberry bog in southern New Jerseyl I settled on this one.
Slight adjustments to the RAW image (tint, contrast, saturation)THen in PS Elements 4 I adjusted the shadows& highlights. Levels, hue & saturation adjustments. Used the clone tool to remove a beer or soda can I had not noticed when taking the photograph, that had been discarded along the road and also cloned out a reflection from some other object off to the side of the road (possibly another aluminum can).
Final step was cropping to remove the blown highlights of the sun in the upper right portion and resized for submission.

there are so many nice submitions. I motion for a get together of photographers. I am by no means one myself, but the opertunity to have an event and to swap ideas and pool your general knowlage would be, I think, a good thing. The opertunity to share points of view, to communicate your way of looking at things, to suck the whole visual potential out of the moment and photograph it all. To convay your experiances to the world in the most direct way possible. To be poets of the lens. To show the world life, where most of the rest of the world sees desolation, money or, 'just another tree' or 'just another sun-beam'. The importance of art is to comunicate, and the focus of photography is communicating the now. I think a good photograph moves as you look at it, is inspired to be more than ink on paper, but a living reflection of the universe. Please pass this on.

Nice golden rays. I like. I wonder if a little off the left might have made it stronger.

Great colors, and a peaceful enviorment. I might not have guessed zen when looking at this, but I give it a 7.

This shot had some potential and suffers from a few things. Unfortunately in 'simple' shots, any flaw stands out that much more. First, I'd suggest taking this shot on your knees. The persepective of the road would be flattened out a bit and add much more to the sense of a path off into infinity. I like the light coming through the trees quite a bit and I like the white surface of the road. All very serene and do well by the challenge. Composition is well balanced. Don't care for the amount of darkness on the left side of the shot. Suppose you can't control nature's lighting, but if the fade to black was a bit more gradual and those trees jus a bit more defined as they came towards me on the left it would have worked better. Overall, nice work. 5.

way too dark (no pun intended)

great title for this and a lovely shot...perhaps dropping to your knees might have been a better perspective
