greetings from the critique club:

i like the silhouette of this image. however, i don't really see anything "zen" about it, and i'm guessing that might explain some of your score.

some areas of improvement might include straightening the horizon (tilted down to the right), and increasing the contrastinessâ„¢ and saturation of the sky. right now it's just very hazy and flat and doesn't offer much to set off the silhouette.

the panorama aspect ratio is fun, but it's hard to accomplish on DPC because 640 pixels is really not a lot. maybe try it again on the august free study that allows bigger images?

Certainly meets the challenge. There's some nice color in the horizon and the silhouetting is good, I really like that aspect and how the more cubical form works with the organic forms of the rocks and sea. I wish the colors were a bit more vibrant, even though its a sunrise as they feel a bit on the flat side to me. The overall focus looks kind of soft, not sure if that's due to the low lighting or not. I gave a 4

The long horizontal sizing works for this image, but it does appear a bit tilted and a bit soft. Colors are soothing.

Not quite feeling the zen in this one.

Nice scene. The sloped horizon is a bit off putting though.

i like the stark geometry of the architecture, i feel it adds to the zen-ness of your image. Overall the image feels a bit unintendedly soft.
